We are excited to see you all at the GPS Iowa Tryouts over the next few weeks. Below is the tryout procedure and information.

All sessions will take place at Spring Creek Sports Complex (7600 NE 38th Ave, Altoona, IA 50009)

Tryout process

  1. Check in at the concession stand 20 minutes before your tryout time 
  2. Receive your tryout t-shirt (priority on t-shirt size in order of when you registered)
  3. Get your head shot picture taken
  4. Players go to the turf for warm ups/introductions 
  5. Parents go to the turf seating for a brief parents meeting

Parents WILL NOT be allowed at the field during the tryout. Please attend the parent meeting and then leave the field location and return when the tryout is complete. 

We ask players to attend both tryout sessions when possible. Each player will need to have soccer cleats, shin guards, a soccer ball and their own water bottle.

June 7 & 9 | 5:00-6:30PM | Girls: 2008, 2009, 2010 & 2011

June 8 & 10 | 5:00-6:30PM | Boys: 2010 & 2011

                      6:45-8:15PM | Boys: 2008 & 2009

June 14 & 16 | 5:00-7:00PM | Girls: 2003, 2004, 2005, 2006 & 2007

June 15 & 17 | 5:00-6:30PM | Boys: 2006 & 2007

                       6:45-8:45PM | Boys: 2003, 2004 & 2005 

Team Placement (Bid Day) Emails:

U11-U13 Boys & Girls - June 16th @ 8AM 

U14-U19 Boys & Girls - June 30th @ 8AM 

  1. Everyone WILL receive an email at 8AM on the specified date (check your spam/junk folders) - Contact Deb Greif before 7PM IF you do not receive an email!
  2. You have until 8PM to ACCEPT/DECLINE the email 
  3. If you choose to accept the placement, you will be redirected to register for the team and pay the deposit
  4. If you are declining the placement, please make sure to still do so by 8PM so we do not have to follow up with you before the deadline 

Financial Aid 

All financial aid requests must be received to the club by the Sunday prior to bid day

U11-U13 must be RECEIVED by June 13th 

U14-U19 must be RECEIVED by June 27th 

Financial aid requests are reviewed by the board of directors and the amount received will be communicated before you register so the amount can be applied prior to check out.
